New Video Games of 2008 or 2009 By: David Rader II on June 29, 2008 @ 7:32 AM
There's 3 games I"m looking forward to coming out within the next year or so. The list goes like this:
Two from Blizzard:
1. Starcraft II
2. Diablo 3
and one from activision:
3. Call of Duty: World At War (COD5)
Starcraft II looks like it's going to be sweet. Diablo 3, just potentially as sweet as Starcraft II, but they're different gaming genres. One is Real Time Simulation or Strategy (RTS) and the other is a Role Playing Game (RPG).
On the not so sweet side of things, I think COD5 will be cool, but the announcement of its making seems so close to the release for COD4 while that games still on fire. It just seems kind of stupid to me to put the fire out on ones own game so early... A lot of people did complain (I read them personally, in-game) that "COD 4 Modern Warfare" wasn't cool because they went aware from their typical World War II (WWII) gaming scenario. I thought it was a pleasant change in direction...
However, Activision is going back to WWII so fast... I REALLY would have loved to see/play and especially experience the creativity they could unleash on an Old West FPS game (perhaps with a little sci-fi twist or something to spice it up a bit).
Oh well, in the mean time check out the Starcraft II and Diablo 3 content on Blizzard.com!
