Call of Duty 4 Modern Warfare Review By: David Rader II on January 12, 2008 @ 10:57 AM
I'm a big fan of strategy and FPS (first person shooter) gaming. Call of Duty 4 (COD4) is great because it allows you to combine strategy and FPS a little bit with the assertion of "classes." Where you can build your player with special attributes, combining them in a way they benefit each other.
After playing it for about a month, I usually get the top score in games, since I rock at FPS games. It's just something I do. It was tough playing while recording the screen though, because it slows the computer and the game down a good bit.
Video Sample of Me Playing Multiplayer
As you may be able to tell from that video, the knife is a very useful weapon. It gets your enemy down quick and helps out in a pinch when you run out of ammo or are in the middle of changing a clip.
The only thing I'd really call a problem I've found with the game is the map sizes. It's really awesome that you can play with over 50 players, but as you may have been able to tell in that video (above), it sucks when people spawn right behind you when your back is to them, because the map is too small. I think nearly every if not every map is too small for that game and I haven't noticed any servers with custom maps yet.
Once again though, the best thing about that game in my opinion is the advent of classes, adding more strategy to the COD4 series and FPS in general. Over all, I recommend this game!

This is a great game! Anyone who likes this game should also try Team Fortress 2.

Spoken like a true fragger.

This is on my to buy list for the Xbox360, I had the other Call of Duty games on the old Xbox and dug them. The other older one I really liked was Chaos: Riot Response (I think?).

@SwollenPickles I haven't played Riot Response... I have very few games these days... I'm totally looking forward to Starcraft 2 though.
@Wormbrain I like Valve games in general. Even though it's little bit older, I haven't found any games I like multiplayer more than the Red Faction by THQ. The "geomod" was so freaking awesome. Not many FPS make the battlefield destroyable from battle fire, like rockets blowing holes in the sides of buildings!
