Are Movies More Important Than Our Conversations

By: David Rader II on August 09, 2007 @ 4:52 AM

When someone is having a conversation with someone, especially people they are around often, usually who they care most about, and the phone rings, they usually take the call, and speak with the caller until what was intended to be said was said.

However, usually, when someone is watching a movie, and a caller calls, the call goes unanswered or the caller is to call back.

People let their conversations be interrupted, but not their movies, even when not at the theater. Why is this?

I am guessing this is because "movie" etiquettes started in theaters, where talking was improper and people had a time limit for the movie, it could not be paused or rewound.

I like movies, some very much, but I think that our conversations are usually more important.

What do you think?
