Opening Cans The Right Way
By: David Rader II on February 03, 2008 @ 7:17 AM

Did you know there was a right way and a wrong way to open up soda cans? Well if you didn't, I'm about to "school" you on it, in other words, most awesomely be a teacher, because that's what teachers are... Awesome.

If you tilt the can backwards (away from the mouth), when you open it you'll be much less likely to get a splash back from your soda, juice, or other canned drink.

Now that you understand the fine principals of can opening, go forth into the world and spread your knowledge. Help hapless can openers around the planet.

One related tip, because it has to do with cans... If you ever need to open a soda can quietly... Put a little liquid (like water) on top of it, enough to cover the mouth, then open the can with the liquid on top... The liquid will soften the blow, allowing you to drink your soft-drink in a library without turning so many heads. Are drinks allowed in libraries... If not, this tip can be used to help not wake someone up who's near by the can-opening battle station (usually, the fridge).
