How does one burping through ones nose differ from burping with their mouth... For instance, when some burp, they sometimes say it burned... Does it effect positively either orifice? Negatively?

I assume sometimes burps reach stomach acid and maybe some fumes from it are brought up when burping, so is that what makes it burp? I've noticed for me personally, when it does burn, it seems to burn my nose more than my mouth, but is it really a big enough concern to concentrate on mouth burps rather than the generally more silent and less noticeable nose burps? Does it damage nose senses when it burns? Similar to the ringing in ones ear being the sound of lost hearing? Would that make the occasional acid smell from a burp the smell of lost scent?

I wonder.
